“The1Goddess” Story
The term “The1Goddess” was not coined out of a diva type attitude. Trina worked in corporate America for 15 years. In that environment, some co-workers had low self-esteem, lots of jealousy, anger and some were just simply resentful toward “the-powers-that-be”. This seem to be common at most JOBs (Just Over Broke) as most people know.
The 15 years Trina spent in corporate America were with a major insurance company in Georgia. The atmosphere was so negative and thick you could cut it with a knife. The majority of the co-workers were women. One of Trina’s co-workers coined herself as a “Princess”. The irony was, her personality was 100% opposite of a princess. The young lady went as far as decorating her cubicle with princess memorabilia; including wearing a tiara periodically. After Trina noticed how this behavior lightened the atmosphere when the other co-workers referred to her as “the Princess”, Trina implemented the “Self Entitlement Program”. The rules were simple; anyone could join, everyone was eligible, promotions were self induced, as well as demotions. Anyone could choose from such titles as: Princess, Queen, Goddess, Diva, Countess, Angel, First Lady, Foxy Lady, Sexy Momma, Boo, Hottie or any term used to place one self upon a pedestal. The program was on a first come, first served type protocol. In other words, if you wanted to adopt a name already taken, you had to be 2nd or 3rd etc. If Diva was already taken, you had to be titled “Diva#2).
Trina started out being “The Queen”, and after about six months, she promoted herself to “The Goddess”. Once Trina left corporate America and started making an Internet presence, she discovered there were other “TheGoddess” already taken, and that’s when she became, “The1Goddess”.
